Common Sense and World Peace
We all want to converge (to meld in to only one) realities that exist as perceptions from those all over the world. We want to be the same. We want everyone in our group which we feel we belong to to accept us completely. I've spent my life not being accepted completely by people in my groups. And it has been the thing that has taught me the truths we now read here-in. When all are seen to only be desiring acceptance and oneness, then where will there arise the things life finds unacceptable, where will arise our tendency toward judgment. The judgmentally decided subjects and behaviors we deny and wish extinction to in others, those behaviors we condemn as deeply inhumane, in the world, and in ourselves create the very perversions we are judging outside of us. We want people to look out of their eyes and perceive the world they see in front of them the same way WE ourselves view this truth from our perspective. We want inside to be unified. We want to belong and feel save. This is a basic instinct for us all.
There is nothing wrong with this instinct. The instict to wish all others could awaken to our view of reality. The instinct for all people to see the "truth" as we see it. And many don't see what these words of truth mean, like a fish does not know what water is because it has never had the chance to live and compare it to any other experiential environment. And even though it is an inherently correct urge to want there to be one view of reality, countless wars have been created out of this instinct. We all have this instinct. But the reason we have this instinct is because we know deeply in our hearts and outside of our brains that life is amazing and that we are lucky to experience it and so are all of our brothers and sisters in human bodies that have the innate ability to be able to recognize it.
The impulse to be a part of a world that experiences the same reality, of a world of people who perceive reality in the way that we do, this is a simple and innocent impulse we all have like we all wanted to be accepted by mother and father. There is nothing wrong with this. We want a perfect world. We want a world where everyone is safe and loved; where everyone never fears walking down streets at night. Where everyone doesn't even think of getting hurt venturing into the night for a peaceful walk
The natural way all we humans express with our every action and invention is the way of the universe. It IS gravity. It is a desire for unification. A desire to believe within one's self that itself is acceptable. Can we now move from the acceptance of each other to a world beyond, like an acceptance of a universe? How greate that we have moved beyond the acceptance of human beings with dark skin not deserving or being considered for slavery and have moved toward accepting people who have differing sexual preferences than ourselves being able to get married. We will overcome this as well, as we have overcome all civil rights issues. The thing always holding back positive and world peace oriented progress has been ideas. We are reluctant to let go of ideas. They are the reality we have the natural impulse to want others to see exactly as we do.
So, is this impulse we all have within correct? What is usually overlooked is that it is an expression of a deeper essence of what we already are. We already are complete. And as we all wake up to this completion and unification, which our impulse to have everyone see reality as we do stems from, peace is the inevitability. The answer bringing world peace right now is the awareness of our sameness, which sees that all of our desires are really for completion and oneness. We all want to be totally satisfied. We want to not want for anything more. We want to lay falling asleep in the warmth of mother's and father's arms. We want the carefree, releasing stretch of the five-year-old in the awakening of the morning.
There is this want still in me. I want all to want world peace. I want all to see this underlying reality I see and bring it to the surface. This want I have is equal to the impulse of all human beings, equal to the impulse we all communicate with our desire to live among people who see the same perspective of reality as ourselves.
Any who attempt to awaken others to an ideal of world peace is simply doing the same thing Hitler was trying
to do, which is make someone believe something that he believes everyone should believe.
But one of these beliefs creates and is meant for the good of all beings. And each of these is a choice. For those who
wish to spread the positive, thus injecting positive into the world for future gladdened children, I applaud you with my heart's beat. And for those who have an exclusionary view that would have other people non-accepted because of THEIR views, I wish you the awakening that all deserve.
Let us awaken to our sameness in the desire for all to view the world as we do. We all wish to realize that we are in the same experience. We all are actually in the same experience when we shut-up and look around. And this truly astounding and miraculous experience called life and universe and existence, we all have the tendency to forget what IT is like a fish who has never been outside the water does not know water for lack of experience of a different environment. When we wake up to our underlying sameness, then all views are seen to come from a true place of love. It is much easier to be compassionate to ourselves and others with the knowledge that frustration and perversion and evil and disharmonious behaviors in ourselves is simply the result of an expression of people wanting everyone to have the same view and for ourselves to be safe in that world.
Now, is it practical to say the above words and live by them? Is it useful to even
write words meant to lead to an awakening? Can we feel the resistance toward believing it possible that everyone would understand the truth of our sameness? Was it practical for Da Vinci to consider designs for flying machines? It took 500 years for those ideas to become reality. Some curse technology for the fact that with it our less aware members of the human family have killed and been killed in the hundreds of millions. Yet there are many who have been on the other side of the planet and have flown home across the oceans to see their wife giving birth to their newborn child. Countless people have spoken on the telephone to their loved ones thousands of miles away right before their last dying breath. Billions of lovers have wooed each other for hours upon hours and days upon days with emails, phone conversation, written letters, and long-distance flower deliveries. Thousands of extra years have been lived by hundreds of thousands of transplant patients. What it is we curse is not technology itself, but the use of technology to destroy life. And this points to the incorrect knowledge of the users of that technology, not the technology itself. And the same can be said for money. Money pays for killing during war and conquest time. But it isn't money that is doing the paying OR the killing. It is the unaware person who lives in the illusion that there are more important things in life THAN LIFE ITSELF. And this points to the individual not knowing their own truly miraculous nature.
Common sense awakens us. It is like a joke. We are led in one direction and then the punchline awakens us to a different perspective. And we are delighted by the surprise. And we laugh. Though many were killed in the past by the Catholic church for believing the Earth to be round, common sense, once explained simply enough and with enough evidence, awakened all people to the fact that the Earth is NOT flat. Even the most fundamentalist people among us today are in the supreme knowledge of the Earth's inarguable roundness. And so it will be as has always been, and peace will reign on Earth as common sense evolves and life's glorious nature becomes simpler to communicate and realize.
